Turkey Flat Grenache is sourced from incredible old vines from the Turkey Flat Vineyard. These century-old vines yield immensely concentrated fruit, which is crafted into a savoury, full-bodied style of wine with robust tannins and amazing complexity. Fermented with some whole bunches, then aged for a year in mostly neutral, large format oak barrels, this is a serious dry red that is best enjoyed with food. It will improve with age over a 15-20 year period, developing aromatic spice and leather notes.
The Schulz family has owned the Turkey Flat estate since 1865, making them part of Barossa Valley’s history and a reference point for the region’s wines. They have become renowned for their expertise in Rhône varieties, producing intense, age-worthy reds and textural, rich whites.
