George T Stagg Kentucky Bourbon 75cl is one of the five bottlings in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection released each fall, uncut, unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2020). Barrels were picked from mature barrels in Warehouses L, K, and Q in spring 2005 and filled for the 2020 release.
The Buffalo Trace distillery is located in Frankfort, Kentucky and throughout history, it has gone by a number of names, including the O.F.C. Distillery and the George T. Stagg Distillery. Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey, the company’s namesake bourbon brand, was released in August 1999. The distillery, according to the company, is the nation’s oldest distillery still in operation.
The distillery is named after the American bison and is situated on what the company claims was once a prehistoric buffalo crossing on the banks of the Kentucky River in Franklin County. Buffalo Trace Distillery’s parent company is The Sazerac Company, an American family-owned producer and importer based in New Orleans, Louisiana, which acquired the distillery in 1992.
